The following workout information will be provided to all athletes:

● Required movement(s) in the appropriate order,
● Movement standards with concise start and end ranges of movement(s),
● Repetition scheme and/or required number of repetitions,
● Required equipment,
● Weight requirements (weights will be communicated in pounds. The athlete is solely responsible for using the correct amount of weight for all movements. Athletes may use kg plates; however, athletes are solely responsible for proper conversions. When competing with Fitness Comps Co, 15kg barbells are considered to weigh 35lb and 20kg barbells are considered to weigh 45lb.),
● Time domain or time limit,
● Scoring details and standards (depending on the competition, athlete placing may be determined by highest or lowest point totals, or by other unique means that Fitness Comps Co deems fit),
● Appropriate scaling or adjustments for each distinct division, if required, and
● Video recording and submission guidelines.

NOTE: As Fitness Comps Co provides online/virtual competitions, we cannot supply athletes with any required equipment.

It is the sole responsibility of athletes to follow workout formats. Athletes must perform all required movements as described. Athletes must also count and implement the appropriate number of repetitions, follow equipment and load guidelines, and must meet time requirements, and all recording and video  submission guidelines.

Athletes are prohibited from modifying workout formats. Workout modifications will result in a void score for the workout/event. Fitness Comps Co provides scaled workouts for athletes. These are the official scaled versions of workouts.

NOTE: the standards specified above are for reps, not a 1-rep max.

1.10 WORKOUTS – ATTIre

No clothing/attire/apparel or other object may interfere with a judge’s ability to discern whether an athlete is properly meeting movement and range of motion standards. Proper workout attire, including shoes, is required for all events.

Weight belts, hand tape, non-tacky gloves, neoprene joint sleeves, and common fitness attire may be allowed during workouts; however, no device worn may provide grip or weight assistance to the athlete. Essentially, if your gear improves safety and/or comfort but does not provide you with an advantage, feel free to use it. When a workout requires a pull-up bar, athletes may wrap tape around the pull-up bar OR wear hand protection (gloves, gymnastics grips, etc.), but athletes are prohibited from taping the bar AND wearing hand protection.

1.11 WORKOUTS – SCORE SUBMISSIONS

Athletes are solely responsible for the timely, accurate and successful submission of workout scores and associated WODProof videos. Incomplete submissions will not be accepted. Athletes have until 11:59pm on the stated submission deadline date to submit their scores and videos. Fitness Comps Co reserves the right to modify or extend score submission deadlines due to unforeseen and/or uncontrollable circumstances. If a submission deadline is extended, athletes who have already submitted their scores and videos are free to use the extra time to improve their scores. All athletes are required to submit their scores through Competition Corner. For detailed instructions on how to submit scores, read this article.

1.12 WORKOUTS – SCORE VALIDATION VIA VIDEO SUBMISSIONS

In order for our judges to properly validate athletes’ scores, all Rx Athletes are required to submit videos. If an Rx Athlete does not submit a video, they will not be eligible for competition ranking and prizes. Although Scaled Athletes are not required to submit videos for competition ranking, they are required to submit videos to be eligible for lucky draw prizes.

Each workout video must be submitted/uploaded via Competition Corner. Remember: Competition Corner requires athletes to submit videos using YouTube or other third-party platforms and Fitness Comps Co requires video submissions to be recorded using the WODProof App.

We have you covered if you need additional information on video recording and uploading tips or submitting a video link.

Video submission score validation is the sole right of Fitness Comps Co.

The Fitness Comps Co judging panel review and validate scores for video submissions. Depending on a number of factors, an athlete’s video submission may be accepted, receive a penalty, or be invalidated. These factors include, but are not exclusive to:

● repetition miscounts,
● workout format violations (e.g. performing movements out of order),
● wearing clothing that may inhibit the judges from properly determining movement form or completion, and
● failing to follow video submission guidelines, as outlined (athletes must use WODProof when recording their workouts. Furthermore, fisheye lenses are prohibited, and athletes must record workouts from appropriate angles and distances).

After the closing of a workout, Fitness Comps Co reserves the right to invalidate, adjust, or penalize an athlete’s score.

At any point in time, Fitness Comps Co may request additional videos from any athlete.

Failure to provide required videos may result in the invalidation of an athlete’s score(s) for the requested workout(s).

Remember, you have 5 days to submit your workouts! In order to ensure you receive your best possible score, we suggest you complete each workout soon after it is posted. That way, you have time to review your video submission, and re-record it, if you think you may receive a penalty for any of the aforementioned reasons.

1.13 WORKOUTS – SCORING PROTOCOLS AND PENALTIES

When the Fitness Comps Co judging panel reviews video submissions, there are four possible outcomes with regards to an athlete’s score/submission. The athlete’s score/submission will be deemed as one of the following:

1. Valid Submission: The athlete meets the required movement standards on all repetitions in the workout, and the score they have submitted is correct. The score will be accepted.;
2. Valid Submission with Minor Penalty: Over the course of the video, the athlete demonstrates a small number of improper or incomplete repetitions that results in a faster time or higher score. A minor penalty’ will be applied and a score adjustment will be made to the athlete’s final score. A minor penalty can be applied to more than one movement per workout, resulting in a greater score adjustment.;
3. Valid Submission with Major Penalty: Over the course of the video, the athlete demonstrates a significant number of improper or incomplete repetitions that results in a faster time or higher score. A ’major penalty’ will be applied and the score may be modified by subtracting a percentage of the total rep count based on the discretion of Fitness Comps Co. If the score is posted in the form of a time, the total time to complete the workout will be adjusted accordingly.; or
4. Invalid Submission: Over the course of the video, the athlete fails to complete the workout as required. A significant number of improper or incomplete reps are performed, or the video does not contain the criteria listed in the video submission standards. The athlete's score may be rejected.

Furthermore, the Fitness Comps Co judging panel may apply an adjustment to an athlete’s score due to miscounted reps, “no reps,” or both. A score adjustment may or may not be made in conjunction with a result from a minor or major penalty as described above.

The Fitness Comps Co judging panel applies time penalties based on the movements and unique circumstances of each individual and unique workout. Each required movement may not have the same time penalty applied to it. Fitness Comps Co reserves the right to update time penalties as they see fit, in any given situation.

1.14 WORKOUTS – SCORE AND VIDEO SUBMISSION APPEALS PROCESS

Fitness Comps Co will email any athletes if their submitted score is modified. We will communicate the way in which the score was modified and provide reasoning for the modification.

If an athlete disagrees with a score modification, they are responsible for contacting Fitness Comps Co within 24 hours. In order to appeal the modification, the athlete must respond to the email within 24 hours, explaining why they disagree with the modification. Fitness Comps Co will review the video and score in question, make a final decision, and communicate that decision to the athlete via email. The same judgment standards from the original judging process will be used during the appeals process.

In the event that an athlete wins their appeal and their score is modified, the athlete’s overall Fall Frenzy Comp rank will be adjusted appropriately, too. In the event that an athlete subsequently ranks high enough to qualify for a prize in their respective division, the athlete may receive their rightful prize.

1.15 PODIUM FINISHERS AND PRIZE WINNERS

All workout winners, podium finishing athletes and prize winners will be announced on our website and social media.
